Nottingham Buildings All Saints' Church All Saints' Street / Raleigh Street- - |
|||||
Funded by William Windley a Nottingham
silk merchant, this church was built between 1863 and
1864. It has a capacity for 800 people and was designed in the
Gothic Revival style by the renowned Nottingham architect Thomas Chambers
Hind and Robert Evans. The church was built to serve the middle classes from
the ever expanding
City of Nottingham who had moved to this area following the Nottingham
Enclosure Act of 1845. Associated with the church are a number of other
buildings but the light was not conducive with obtaining reasonable
quality photographs of these
Unfortunately, like many other churches these days, at the time of my visit it was locked, thus preventing any photographs of the interior. For more information about All Saints' Church, visit their website - Click Here |
