25 to 29 Wheeler Gate
This building dates from 1885 / 86 and was designed by Nottingham architect Robert Evans for W. E. Swann. It has a very nice partly original shop front. People of my generation will remember this shop as the premier Nottingham booksellers Sisson and Parker who first opened there in 1897. In the 1980's it was taken over and traded under the name of Hudsons, then Dillons and then most recently as Waterstones. Sadly it is now a Sainsbury's Express
