41 Pilcher Gate The front door I understand that the house was built between 1689 and 1699 for the Sherwin family, and that it has a fine sweeping staircase - the oldest example in Nottingham. The property has undergone several alterations since it was built and in 1885 a lace warehouse wing was added to the rear.
