Nottingham Buildings

This imposing brick building that incorporates some very fine detailing, dates from 1895 and was designed by Gilbert S Doughty

There is a picture c1926 (See Picture the Past) showing the building occupied by the Smart & Brown Ltd. furniture store. It is possible that this building was actually built for them. This firm also designed and manufactured its own furniture

This firm later merged to become Henry Barker, Smart & Brown Ltd.
