This fine building carries the date of 1901 and the initials BK & Co. on an inscription on its wall. I am indebted to Steve Peck who
informs me that the BK & Co stands for Buckoll King & Co. Ltd who
were fruit and potato merchants and that later the 1913 OS map shows it as
a garage. Also, In a directory dated 1915 it is shown occupied by R.
Cripps & Co. Ltd Motor Garage. |
