The Arkwright Building / University College Nottingham Shakespeare Street Looking at it today, it is hard to believe that this building was very extensively damaged when it suffered a direct hit by a German bomb in WW2. If one looks at the masonry on the frontage, shrapnel scars are clearly visible It's restoration is a tribute to those who carried out the work.
