Brand of The Nottingham Civic Society that
they
are,
left
to
right:
William
Shakespeare,
John
Milton,
Francis
Bacon
&
Isaac
Newton.
There
were
originally
two
other
figures,
James
Watt
and
Georges
Cuvier
(1769-1832
a
French
zoologist
and
statesman),
but
these
were
'lost'
through
enemy
action. They were made by Messrs Farmer and Brindley of Westminster |
