After the demolition of the old bus station and car park. the new Broad Marsh is now rising from the ashes.

Update June 2020::
Whilst completion of the new car park and library is progressing to plan, work on the actual shopping centre has come to a halt. INTU (building owners),has gone into administration with huge debts and the contractor Mc Alpine has withdrawn from site and dismantled all scaffolding.  It is not known if or when work might resume.

Update 6th August 2020
It is reported that the government has granted the City Council
£7.99 Million to demolish what remains of the old Broad March Centre.  It then has to be decided what to do with this prime piece of land which is owned by the City Council. There is substantial support, with myself included, for the land to be turned into a green park space., something that could be appreciated by generations to come.
