Nottingham Buildings

The original castle was founded by William the Conqueror in 1067 but the present poor excuse for a castle owes its existence to first Duke of Newcastle who built it as his Ducal Palace.

The 'castle' is a museum and amongst other exhibits it houses the Sherwood Foresters museum, and an art gallery.

It is well worth a visit.
