Architect John Car was also responsible for Colwick Hall and Newark Town Hall and there is also a link to Chek Whyte who was also recently responsible for the beautiful restoration of Colwick (See separate section)

The house has been modified and extended many times over the centuries but what we see today is largely the work of Architect John Carr who designed it and completed the works in 1780.

This view is unfortunately the only one now visible to the general public following its purchase by local businessman and entrepreneur Mr. Chek Whyte who beautifully restored both the exterior and the interiors before selling it off divided, I believe, into several units.
