This
cinema
was
opened
in
1937
and finally closed on the 13th August 1977 following a showing of The
Sound of Music. Once, every area had a local cinema but this is now one of very few cinema buildings to survive in Nottingham. Like many of its time it's in the art deco style and harks back to the golden age of cinema when the 'big screen' really was just one BIG screen. |
