Nottingham Buildings

During demolition of the properties that used to surround it, I recall that substantial caves were uncovered on the site

Plaque to commemorate the fact that the house was the residence of French General Marshal Tallard.

This house dates from around 1675 and was for a while the residence of French General Marshal Tallard who was captured at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704.

In the early 1960's this beautiful house it was in a very poor state of repair but when the area was re-developed along the then brand new Maid Marion Way, the house was saved and restored.  I think it's the finest house of the period in the city.
