The Theatre Royal Theatre Square This is 'Carmen'
the dancer, a fine modern sculpture by It was erected in 1989 and once stood outside the theatre as seen here. Sadly, she got damaged but instead of inviting the artist to repair her, the City Council got a firm of local fabricators to do the job and I'm informed that not only was the repair not done sympathetically, they also took the liberty of adding modifications. I have not seen her since taking this photograph, but I understand that she now stands on the first floor balcony inside the theatre.
