The Trip to Jerusalem Inn Castle Road With a date of 1189 this establishment claims to be Nottingham's (Indeed England's), oldest pub. I will not debate that claim here but suffice it to say that this has to be the city's most unique, interesting and original public house. If you are a tourist or visitor and only have time for just one pint - then drink it here. The pub is built into the castle rock and several of the rooms are formed partly out of caves, one having a tunnel in it's roof that I believe once led up to the castle. © Ray Teece 20-06-2006 NB00185 |
