Willoughby House

20 Low Pavement

Willoughby House is one of the finest of its period to survive in the city.  It is believed that it was built between 1730 and 1740 as the city residence of Rothwell Willoughby the brother of Lord Middleton of Wollaton Hall.

At that time the rich favoured residences close to The Castle, so as to be close to the local centre of power and influence - The Duke of Newcastle.

In 2005 after extensive interior and external refurbishment this lovely house opened as the flagship city store of Nottingham's Sir Paul Smith the fashion designer.
