This appliance room was the venue for some fantastic Christmas parties in the 1940's & 50's and I have some happy memories of all the fire crew who put so much effort into them. Toys were scarce but every child went home with a great gift hand made by the firemen. My favorite one was a hand carved and panted model of a Lancaster Bomber. |
