Nottingham Miscellany
70th Anniversary of Nottingham Blitz - 8th & 9th May 1941

When I saw this exhibit on display, it immediately brought back memories for me. My father had an old battered one of these in our shed on Colville Villas.  It had a nice  brass knob on the top (Missing from this example) to strike to set it off.  At age about six, I decided to give it a go to see if it worked.

It did!

It was a foam type and you never did see such a mess that it made in the shed and of course of my Dad was none too pleased !
