To the present day because of the cool stable temperature in them, caves are used to store ale. They have also in the past been used for both the brewing and the drinking of ale. This and the next shot show a cave used to store and drink ale in. Present day pubs such as The Trip to Jerusalem, The Salutation, The George & Dragon and many others still keep their ales in rock cut cellars such as this. |
