This is the view on entering the main chamber from the original entrance staircase and short tunnel. Immediately in front is the massive central support column. One the right is the contemporary entrance tunnel dug in WW2. Unfortunately the chamber is too large to capture with my lens in one shot, but as can be seen on the right, seating / staging goes all round the perimeter walls. |
