This is one of the few pieces of blue brick railway works now surviving in the area. The Great Northern and LNER Railways both cut through Sneinton.

It is believed that other cave dwellings might be partly preserved behind this and the high sandstone wall that adjoins it to the right.

The land in front is part of the East Side Re-Development Area.
