Broad Marsh
This building that stands on the corner of what was the junction of Broad Marsh and Lister Gate was in the 1960's the shop of Dunn & Co., a gentlemen's outfitters. To it's right on the opposite corner of the road was Burton the Tailors. About fifty yards down Broad Marsh on the left once stood The Towers public house which was one of the roughest watering holes in the city where fights often broke out. The landlord had an fierce looking Alsatian dog that acted as a deterrent to most, but had little effect on those too drunk to appreciate the danger.
