Cliff Road runs at the base of the sandstone cliff on top of which the original 'English' town of Nottingham was established. This road was originally known as Red Lion Street and formed the heart of the notorious Narrow Marsh area which had some of the worst slums in the UK. Today it is a very quiet little backwater for those living there. |
