Derby Road View looking west from Canning Circus. The building on the immediate right used to be the cigar factory of E. Alton & Co. who moved here in 1897. Due to falling demand resulting from the smoking ban in public places the business was forced to close in 1992. For much of its history the cigars were hand made and they employed up to 130 people before automation took an increasing roll in production. in its final ten years this was the only remaining cigar factory in the UK.
