Nottingham Buildings

This inscription and Birkin fanily motif the bee, is to be found above the entrance tunnel that gives vehicular access to a central goods yard. Far left are the initials 'TCH' for the architect T. C. Hine and far right 'G & H' for the builder which I am informed by Ken Brand stands for
Garland & Holland who at the time of building had a yard nearby.

On the wall of this tunnel are two of Nottingham's 'Hidden Treasures'

My family has a link to Richard Birkin.  My wife's grandfather Liscumb Morland a professional boxer in the city, taught Birkin's son to box.

Post Script - May 2019: The Nottingham post reported that the building in undergoing restoration.
