Clock tower Detail

High Street

The Boots business went from strength to strength and in the process,  Jesse Boot became a very wealthy man.

He used that wealth in the best and most generous way that he could and gifted The University Park and Highfields Park to the people of Nottingham and also funded the building of
The Nottingham University Trent Building,

one of the finest buildings in the city.

He was a great man and a fine bust of him stands at the middle entrance to Highfields Park.

He was Knighted in 1917 and in 1929 was created 1st Baron Trent of Nottingham
