Shipstone & Son were one of the two prominent local breweries in the city. The other being the Home Brewery in Daybrook Alas, both are now lost to history but this building that carries dates of 1892 & 1900 has been saved from the wrecking ball by being acquired by the Pye family in 1995 who funded a multi million pound regeneration and restoration programme.
