The Duke of Newcastle's Tunnel The Park Estate
This tunnel has to be one of the best kept secrets of Nottingham, as in my experience few know of it. The tunnel was built under the direction of T. C. Hind the architect responsible for many buildings in the city and was opened in 1855. It runs between Tunnel Road in The Park to Derby Road but today the Derby Road side is very much less than obvious as will be seen in a later view.
