Designed
by
Samuel
Curtis
and
opened
in 1852,
this
is
Nottingham's
oldest
public
park.
After
many
years
of
neglect
and
decline,
it
has
recently
been
restored
and
now
looks
wonderful
again.
Apart
from
the
absence
of
working
toilets
and
a
cafe
for
refreshments
the
park
is
just
about
as
good
as
it
was. As
a
small
child
I
lived
only
a
few
hundred
yards
away,
and
visited
several
times
a
week.
In
the
1940's
it
was
very
well
used
and
it
is
to
be
hoped
that
the
younger
generations
will
re-discover
it
and
appreciate
what
a
valuable
inner
city
asset
this
park
is.
